ORIGINAL INFO: Go ‘Nilla, Go ‘Nilla, Go! Or, rather, the secret origin of Vanilla Ice!

RUMINATIONS: I think the review speaks for itself, so nothing really to say there.

But then there’s the storyline. I had a lot of ideas for what would happen at the end of Linkara’s journey, when he DID eventually return home. One of those would be him just returning without consequence, another would be for Jaeris to appear again and take the gun right after Linkara got back, just to give it a nice shocking, knife-twisting moment… but then there was this idea. If Linkara’s journey was about self-discovery and improving himself… what would have EVENTUALLY happened if he hadn’t gone? Well, obviously he wouldn’t have just shoved his hand through 90s Kid’s chest, but the same general principle applied – he would drive away his friends and abuse his power. And this would also serve character development down the road, but that’s for another day.

The Pollo body introduced here was made by the ever-awesome propmaker and artist Featherweight, who would also later build the shell for the fully remote-controlled cybermat prop. In this case, the Pollo body is designed to be a “travel” Pollo, one I could bring with me to conventions since the regular Pollo bodies were too large and fragile. This one easily broke up into multiple components, which is just damn awesome. Plus he’s got an actual light in his head, something Featherweight managed to pull off while I was still using construction paper. The travel Pollo body got to serve as a nice interim body so I wasn’t always utilizing my Tom Servo replica. While it’s a great prop, it’s an expensive little objecy of mine and I’d prefer to keep him in his glass case. Both this body and a picture of Snowflame that Featherweight made would eventually end up behind me when I put up shelves behind the futon.
