This Aliens Dark Descent game guide video is an example of how to survive a Massive Onslaught. It can start anywhere on the map, but you can expect it by observing the Alien Aggressiveness bar in the top right cornet. It begins when the timeline reaches the red exclamation mark. Our example shows one of the battles from mission 1 in Dead Hills. Expect that in later missions more elite xenomorphs will take part in the onslaught.
Use the time you have to quickly locate an area where the xenomorphs will be able to attack you from only one direction. Weld the doors (aliens may destroy them, but it will take them some time) and set up all the Sentry Guns you have. During the fight try to start with Suppressive Fire to slow down the monsters and prevent them from reaching your marines too fast. Switch to other skills in closer combat - like Shotgun Blasts or the Grenade Launcher for attacking groups of enemies.
