Making a skin top for a BJD wig

I've been working on Firal's customization, though much slower than I expected what with everything going on around here lately. Hoping I can get a bit ahead soon. I'd hoped to have her done by the end of this month, but I think it's safe to say that won't happen!
Today I'm making a "skin" top for a new wig, sharing the method I use most for this center piece of the wig. There are a few other ways to do it and we'll look at those in the future too.

Fun fact: The tulle I'm using is cut from my wedding veil. It was never fancy, but since it got torn during the reception, there was no point in saving it. I hate wasting material, though, so now I use bits and pieces of it for doll projects. Kinda different, huh?
