FIRST PROJECT
INTRODUCTION
Globally, every month we end up using large quantity of PPE kits, e.g. face mask. We end up using around 129 billion
face masks per month that means we are using 3 million masks per minute. This mask is made of plastics and people
really don’t know what has to be done with them. Sometimes mask are thrown into the garbage bin and this mask
get mixed up with other types of waste and they rise the chances of infection among our waste picker members and
they formed global warming. So, basically to reduce this pollution, I am going to represent an idea in which I will
recycle the uses mask and make bricks by them.

Procedure -
At first, I made ECOBINS. I am going to place these bins in public places like hospitals. The face masks will be
disposed of in the bins after it is used. As per pollution control board guidelines, these bins will be sealed up for 72
hours after it is filled. Once it is full after 72 hours, I will empty it into a disinfectant chamber, and all the face masks
will be kept for three to four hours in it. Once it is out of this,it will be shredded, as you can see here, these are
shredded masks and this is paper waste, which is premixed with cement. After mixing shredded masks with paper
waste and cement, I will put the mixture into the mould. After that, I will dry it for 24 hours naturally. And after 24
hours, it will become a brick.. * DISINFECT CHAMBER – BLEACH SOLUTION (SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE)*
*** Ingrediants that nedded to make this brick are – i) 55% of shredded mask . ii) 38% of paper waste . iii) 7% of
adhesive ( cement ) ***
Benefits:-
1. This brick is eco-friendly.
2. We can buy it at low cost.
3. 4.5 times stroger than a normal first class brick.
4. Lighter than a normal brick
And as we were doing the same process we made the tile.
