How To Install Fonts In Photoshop CS6

I've gotten many emails for a tutorial on how to install fonts so I'll show you
how to do it in windows since that's my operative system.

However, whatever your system is fonts will end up in your fonts folder.

Let's be safe and Make sure photoshop is not opened.
For this example I'm going to be using Dafont, but there are many websites that offer fonts for free.


Click on the download button most of the fonts requires file stracting software to unzip it
if you don't have one already in your computer you need to install it. I'm using 7ZIP.

There are many to choose from just type in your browser "file extraction software".

After you click on the "fonts download button" you should see this window that opens with whatever extraction software you have and click ok

Once the font folder is unzipped there maybe a few files in it click on the one that has a ttf or "True Type Font".

Drag and Drop from the Zip Extractor to the file.

Click "Start"
"Computer"
Your "Local Disk"
and "Windows" you should see a folder named fonts

Simply drag that font file into the "Font folder"

Now open photoshop
Go to "Window" and choose "Character"
It will open a list of fonts and you should see the font we just installed.

Now if you are like me and many other people instead of going to Dafont a do some search before downloading the fonts you need you could download more than 8.000
fonts from the links I have under my description straight to your computer and access them easily.

Just a warning each link have around 100MB of fonts so be sure you have enough space on your hard drive.
