Members of the Youth Select Committee are hearing evidence on their inquiry into social media and youth violence. Young people will ask experts and the UK Government about young people's exposure to violence on social media, how social media companies can regulate the content young people see and explore Government policy and regulation on safety, education and prevention.

This inquiry will examine social media and youth violence. For the purpose of this inquiry, ‘youth violence’ will be defined as: specific types of crime such as knife crime, homicide, and gun crime and areas of criminality where serious violence or its threat is inherent, such as in gangs, committed by or against under 18s.
