Gumshen is a Seattle-based band with ten albums whose songs blend indie-electronic and alt-rock and resonate with listeners who crave authentic music that moves between moods as fluidly as life does—cerebral without being pretentious, danceable without being superficial.
Gumshen was formed in 2006 by two longtime friends, with roots going back to 80s grunge, and including performing and recording with Velvet Underground guitar player John Cale, and Mother Lovebone and Guns N' Roses drummer Greg Gilmore. The group thrives on sometimes steady/sometimes quirky rhythms, emotionally charged vocals, and reflective lyrics.
