V12E5: Coves of the Colorado River

I travel northwest into Arizona, in search of backcountry experiences in a warmer climate. My travels take me into the Colorado River basin, in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, nestled between the desert mountains of Arizona to the east, and Nevada to the west. There, I find a wealth of primitive routes to explorer, each one leading to an idyllic cove, or a picturesque mountaintop. The warm weather compels me to take to the river in my Kokopelli Pack Raft, where I enjoy a long excursion up-stream followed by a spaghetti dinner. Wild burros make a special appearance.
