I was digging in the NASA archives when I found images I've never seen before and didn't know even existed. They were shot out the window of the Redstone rocket from launch to splashdown. You never see this. Nobody stands up in the spacecraft during launch holding a camera out the window. This was launch, space, reentry and splashdown in just over 16 minutes. On top of that it was one wild ride, everything that could go wrong did go wrong.
This is a glimpse of what you never get to see, riding the rocket to space and back.
