Paws of War and Operation VEST hosted a heartwarming wedding ceremony for two service dogs, Storm and Tucker, at Smithtown Landing. The event, which took place from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., celebrated the unique bond between the dogs and their handlers, Michael Sweeney and Stefan Hespeler, while highlighting the life-changing work of both organizations in pairing service dogs with veterans, first responders, and law enforcement personnel.

Storm, a Border Collie/Australian & American Shepherd Mix, was paired with U.S. Army Veteran Michael Sweeney through Paws of War, a nonprofit dedicated to providing service dogs to military veterans and first responders. Tucker, a Mini Australian Shepherd, was matched with Stefan Hespeler, Co-Founder of Operation VEST, which specializes in pairing service dogs with law enforcement officers and first responders.

The ceremony was filled with special moments, including the exchange of symbolic "paws" rings, a custom-made dog cake, and a patriotic picnic for guests. Storm and Tucker looked charming in their wedding attire as they celebrated their bond in front of a gathering of friends, family, veterans, and first responders. The event showcased the mission-driven efforts of both organizations, which work to support veterans and first responders with life-changing service dogs.
