The pionner reggae Soundsystem from Rio de Janeiro, Digitaldubs, comes with a new project combining vibes from Jamaica, Africa and Brazil.

The song "In the Beginning" features the jamaican roots legend Cedric Myton, from The Congos fame, and the brazilian musician Andre Sampaio – accompanied by Os Afromandinga – to create a unique blend of roots reggae, dub and afrobeat. The groove and message call us to a spiritual trance, connecting ancient african rhythms and the beats of nyahbhingi.

Produced and mixed by Digitaldubs, the instrumental is re-work of the song "Zimbabwenin" by Andre Sampaio & Os Afromandinga (originally released in their first album). Andre's guitar is a guide line for the tune,
while Cedric´s high voice flows softly over the heavy and hypnotic drum and bass. It’s not difficult to make a link between this song and the classic works of The Congos at Lee Perry's studio in the 1970's.

The EP also brings a counteraction by veterean deejay Ranking Joe
(entitled "Nyahbhingi") on even heavier cut of the riddim made speacially for the sound systems. Two Dub versions close the package in fine style.
