Piano Masterclass on Ravel - Jeux d'eau : Jean Yves Thibaudet teaches Nicolas van Poucke

Описание к видео Piano Masterclass on Ravel - Jeux d'eau : Jean Yves Thibaudet teaches Nicolas van Poucke

A fine masterclass on the elements of performance in Maurice Ravel's famous work for solo piano - Jeux d'eau. This was earlier available on Youtube, but was then very selfishly deleted by the performer (student) - Nicolas van Poucke. Maybe he didn't want anybody else to learn !! Anyway, here it is in the form of a re-upload.

Jean Yves Thibaudet is a famous French pianist, who studied at the Paris Conservatory, and enjoys a varied performing career worldwide with numerous international orchestras (for example, The Berlin Philharmonic and The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), and acclaimed artists like Renee Fleming, Yuri Bashmet and Joshua Bell.

Ravel dedicated this piece of music to Gabriel Faure. The title may be translated as "Water Games", and may refer to the fountains in the then Royal Gardens fo France, mimicking the sounds of water sprays and brooks.
