24 Hurt in 6-Alarm Sunset Park Fire | 4.3.19 | Shot by Alejandro Feliciano & Adam Balhetchet | SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn (LoudlabsNYC) - A 6-alarm fire injured 24 people including firefighters. It started around 5pm Wednesday, at 702 44th St, within the confines of the 72 Precinct. The fire was located on the 6th floor and quickly spread towards the roof, which caused it to collapse. The fire also had an extension to the other wing of the building. Due to the heavy wind conditions, firefighters were unable to conduct an interior attack. Over 100 firefighters responded to the fire. 110 people were displaced from 54 apartments. The fire was under control 25 hours later at 6 pm on Thursday. Cause of the fire is not suspicious. FDNY has not released the exact cause of the fire yet.
