CRCA Dave Jordan Classic 2024 - Men's 4/5 - Central Park Race 6-1-2024

I got 20th. Fun Race.

10:30 - I follow behind Chris Mandigo in what becomes a short-lived break attempt going into horse alley

15:40 - Saying what's up to Mike Gaico and expressing the fact that i've grown accustomed to racing in much smaller groups in the Men's C field. I think we started out with 47 today and finished with 31.

17:45 - Telling my teammate Clinton Moran that I'm sure there is going to be an attack up Harlem Hill. Not a particularly bold prediction, but, at the time, this felt like an insight that was worth sharing. Neither of us wanted to let a break get away

20:53 - Telling a fellow Men's C field racer, Peter, (the regulars C-field racers were far outnumbered by the Bs and the non CRCA racers...at least it felt that way) that we need to push to latch on the front of the race

40:33 - "you have a youtube channel, right?"

45:23 - a guy up front in the peloton sprays something on himself and the field. likely water.

56:14 - I think my weak pull off the front made the Paceros guy a bit mad. He passed me pretty aggressively

56:37 - Talking with Chris about the pace of the race. This was, by 2-3mph, our fastest race of the season. Different racers = different vibe

59:06 - Checking in with my MTDT teammate Clint. Lamenting that "we're all together". In reality - we had dropped about a third of the field by this point

1:01:15 - I feel and i think people in the field are starting to feel the difficulty of moving up

1:03:44 - I make a move up Harlem Hill on the last lap and get to 3rd wheel

1:05:28 - Me and 2nd wheel get caught and swarmed. I lost several wheels here because I was scared
