Meet Chevy Laurent of RydeFYR in Manhattan Beach

CHEVY LAURENT

Chevy developed a deep passion for athleticism, music, and movement at age 3, when she strapped on her first set of tap shoes. After years as a competitive dancer, the Michigan native moved to Los Angeles to earn her Bachelor of Arts from Loyola Marymount University and her Master of Arts from the University of Southern California. She even attended Pepperdine University School of Law. While working in corporate marketing and sales, Chevy found herself spending any free time she had in the pursuit of fitness. Ultimately, she decided to leave her decade-long corporate career behind, to take her passion to a new level. She became a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher certified in Power Vinyasa and Yoga Sculpt and soon after, a SoulCycle indoor cycling instructor. She has taught yoga at Core Power Yoga, Hot 8 Yoga and at corporate and community events around the world. She is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (NASM- CPT) and a featured trainer for fitness and lifestyle brand Tone It Up.

By combining her passion for heated workouts, indoor cycling, and the yoga mindset, Chevy created the FYR Method of training her clients. In 2019, she opened the first brick-and-mortar RydeFYR Indoor Cycling Experience studio, offering classes taught exclusively in the FYR Method. The method, used in all signature RydeFYR classes, allows riders of all-levels, a sanctuary to experience a vigorous mental and physical workout, while recognizing their own unique stamina and strength. Chevy currently lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband, Jaime, and her “fur-baby” long-haired chihuahua.
