As someone who values religious freedom as one of America's greatest strengths, I write to you today on behalf of Saeed Abedini, who remains unjustly imprisoned in Iran.

In just the last week, over 24,000 of us have joined together to publicize Saeed's plight, and seek his freedom.

Thank you for the support for Saeed's release that you have expressed in the past. It is greatly appreciated. However, I am both shocked and grieved that the recent nuclear agreement with Iran did not include the Iranian leaders freeing this innocent American. I understand the agreement contains many promises from Iran. The release of Saeed Abedini would be a clear demonstration of goodwill to support such promises.

No matter one's political affiliation, we all can unite in opposition to religious persecution. I believe the U.S. Government must continue to actively seek freedom for Saeed Abedini. As one of your constituents, I ask you to use all the power of your office to see that this innocent American is brought home to his wife and children.
