This short storybook is an excellent way to introduce the concept of social anxiety, and to help children understand that fear is a normal part of living, which can be managed. The young heroine's journey is an example of social emotional learning, and it is excellent for first grade, second grade, and even third grade students. It is likely many of them face the same problem as our protagonist, in one way or another. This inspiring picture book is equally enjoyable as part of family bedtime at home, or during story time at school.
