COMIC, ANIMATION AND GAMES FANS GATHER IN HONG KONG
Tens of thousands of comic fans have flocked to the 17th annual Animation Comic and Games Expo (ACGHK) in Hong Kong.
Costuming, or cosplay, is a big part of the convention, with male and female fans dressing as their favorite characters, regardless of gender.
Chris Chan, a diehard fan of Iron Man, turned heads when he came to the expo in full Iron Man costume.
Chan said that the costume was made with "urethane plastic stripes and foam" and took hours of labor.
Giving superheroes a run for their money was a "Star Wars" booth where a giant model of the Millennium Falcon was the show stopper. The construction was 5.5 meters long, 3.7 meters wide and weighs a tonne.
The ACGHK is one of the largest comic conventions in the region, with over 600 exhibitors participating.
For the fans, there are cosplay contests, comic artists' meet and greet and a comic illustration competition.
The 17th annual ACGHK runs from July 24th to 28th.
