Toyota Alphard 3.0L 3L V6 1MZ-KE 1MVKE. Knock sensor replacement.

After getting an error code P0330 (and I believe either a P0325 or P0335 for the other sensor). This is how the knock sensors and harness were replaced in a Toyota Alphard.

This engine is used in other Toyota models, Camry, Highlander, etc. There are good videos out there of how this is done in those models, and they are still well worth a watch before you take this on, but nothing I could find for the Aplhard. So here it is.

The biggest challenge is the lack of space. The models mentioned have massive engine bays with big bonnets/hoods to give you good access. The Alphard, less so.

One thing I would say is that I'm 6 foot tall, reaching into the back of the engine bay was close to my limits. If you identify as short, then this may be a struggle.

No special tools are required. A decent socket set, hex keys, ratchet spanners (12 and 14mm). You will need a 27mm socket or spanner to remove and replace the actual knock sensors.
