Shock strut on BMW 1 (E82) Convertible (E88) (03.2008–12.2013) / BMW 1 Hatchback (E81) (09.2006–12.2011) / BMW 1 Hatchback (E87) (03.2003–09.2012) / BMW 3 Saloon (E90) (06.2004–12.2011) / BMW 3 Coupe (E92) (11.2005–12.2013) cars should be replaced, as a rule, according to one and the same procedure.
However, there can be slight differences due to specific features of the vehicle design.

0:00 — BMW (E82) – shock absorbers: step-by-step replacement tutorial
1:43 — Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.
3:40 — Clean all joints of the arm.
5:57 — Disconnect the steering knuckle from the shock absorber strut.
7:40 — Remove the old shock absorber from the hydraulic coil spring compressor.
7:50 — Install the new shock absorber on the hydraulic coil spring compressor.
16:24 — Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts.
