What is CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility and how do we identify it?

When operating in a certain location, shouldn’t companies focus on profit and dividends instead of the environment and society? This is a constant battle that businesses face as they grow and use more and more resources, leaving a bigger footprint behind as a result of operating in a specific way or location.

One reason why companies adopt a wider perspective when it comes to establishing their objectives is very tightly linked to adverse publicity. To avoid such situations companies tend to embrace the concept of corporate social responsibility. By practicing CSR, companies become aware of the kind of impact they are having on all aspects of society including economic, social, and environmental.

To apply #CSR means that in the normal course of business you as an enterprise operate in ways that protect and enhance society and the environment, instead of contributing negatively to them. Often, companies that adopt CSR programs have grown to the point where they can give back to society. In most cases, CSR is a concept associated with large #corporations.
