Speaker: Current Stomach Cancer Patient - Mattie Kyei

Mattie was diagnosed with stage three stomach cancer on August 8 2018. She had a total gastrectomy in October 2018, shortly after her surgery she spoke at the 2nd annual Stomach Cancer Conference hosted by My Gut Feeling, sharing her recent experiences with being diagnosed with cancer as well as her treatment challenges.

Mattie is a chef, so losing her stomach and not being able to enjoy food made it especially difficult for her to cope with her diagnosis. However Mattie's optimism and love of life helps her to continue to thrive despite stomach cancer. Her diagnosis did not stop her from living life to the fullest. She continues to see friends, travel and cook because she recognizes that a positive attitude can help her fight through the treatment and get back to health.
