Peter Green's Les Paul came from the Gibson factory with the polarity of the neck pickup reversed. This was caused by the magnet being installed in the pickup upside down. I decided to try it. This is the result.

If you decide to try this yourself it is fairly easy and several videos are on YouTube showing what to do. However if you aren't comfortable with tinkering with your pickups I suggest getting a guitar tech to do it. If you aren't careful you could damage the pickup.

An alternative way to do this that allows you to retain your original sound of both pickups together is a phase reverse switch like Jimmy Page uses. It reverses the phase by changing how the pickup is wired as opposed to reversing the polarity by flipping over the magnet in the pickup.
