This is a true story about Aleksey Petrovich Maresyev, a WW2 Soviet pilot and a true patriot with a strong will. Maresyev got shot down in a fight with a German Bf-109 on April 1942. He got badly wounded and spent 18 days in winter forest with no food trying to get back to his regiment. He lost his legs but he did not loose will to fly and fight the enemy.
