UP Electricity Department Files FIR Against Samajwadi Party MP For Alleged Power Theft | India Today

The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Department has filed an FIR against Samajwadi Party MP Zia-ur-Rehman Barq for alleged power theft. Officials found evidence of tampering with electricity meters at the MP's residence in Sambhal. The case has been registered under Section 135 of the Anti-Power Theft Act. Inspectors discovered that original meters had been replaced with ones showing zero consumption despite high electricity usage.
