How to Silence a Noisy Alarm System

My alarm system started giving me some the annoying sound reminding me that there is something wrong with the system and it is needed to be checked.

I noticed that the signal each alarm system give is different depending on manufacturer or maybe on how it is wired. For this particular system I simply get battery trouble code in the beginning but after a few hours it switched to a single tone that never ends. It is easy for this system as I can silence it by simply pressing a button. In my previous home, I can only silence the noise by a few minutes and it will come back until I unplug the battery and the power adapter. So, if you have a system that you cannot silence you can look at the control box and see if you can remove the battery and/or the adapter.

NOTE: The alarm system might be connected to your smoke and Carbon Monoxide sensor. If this is the case, do not disable the alarm for good even if you do not have it connected to a security company.
