Once you decide what it is you want, usually what happens is you come down to a choice of two. That's where we try and get you. And what your framer should also do is, as you eliminate things put them away, so there are no longer in your eyesight. So they're no longer capturing your attention or distracting you from what you want.
To decide, the final product should look like once you've decided that, once you've decided that kind of glass. And your framer should tell you what the choices are going about the glassware choices are, but madding. They will then measure it, at that point we, because I'm getting ahead of myself a little bit here. We have to figure out the size of your frame will be. So we tend to work from the inside out. We measure the window, which is what you'll see and then the attachments that are around the outside edge.
Your framer should then give you a price and fairly quickly and easily give you a price. And then monitor you while you're listening to the price, is it too much, is this is beyond what you thought you would be spending? If it is, you have to go back to the books and look at other choices that might be more appropriate financially for you. So your framer has to guide you through all of this, he has to guide you with respect for the artwork and respect for you as an individual who wants this framed.
There is something else the framer has to tell you. What time frame they are going to produce the material and ideally you want, if they say a week, two weeks, whatever time frame they say you should be able to, your framer should be able to, not guarantee it but should perform at least 99% of that time within that time frame.
I tend to under promise and over perform, that's the way I like to do things. I know that when I want something I want it now, I don't want it in three weeks from now! So I tend to operate on the basis of how I see things, which is the quicker I can render you product, the finished product, the happier you're going to be and onto the next challenge.
