Senator Denise Batters questions Trudeau's Democratic Institutions Minister Karina Gould in Senate Question Period about Min. Gould's senior political staffer, James Cudmore. Cudmore is the CBC reporter who blew open the Irving shipbuilding contract story. Immediately hired by the Minister of Defence's office, Cudmore now works for Min. Gould.

Senator Batters asks Min. Gould whether PMO directed her to hire Cudmore. She also asks which government department is paying Cudmore's legal fees.

Min. Gould doesn't even attempt to answer, preferring instead to duck with a strange reference to "the middle class and those working hard to join it" and trying to shield herself in saying that she can't answer questions about a court case. Clearly, neither of the questions Senator Batters asked required answers in that realm. Just another day of #TrudeauTransparency! (October 23, 2018)
