Engine
The torque is instantly available and usable. You don't need to wring the throttle as much. As a result, the engine is easy going, so even in the highways the engine has a lot to offer.
The bike rides happily all day at 110-120 kmph. I heard that you can push up to 140 with little to none vibrations, but frankly that's unsafe in Indian roads. Besides, the wind blast is such that you will want to ride between 90-110.
Easier to commute in the city, you can ride in 45-50 kmph at 6th gear without having to downshift.
Personal Top speed achieved: 135kmph. Make no mistake, triple digit speeds can be achieved, but question is: do you want to?
Thank god for Slipper Clutch! I can aggressively downshift without having to worry about the rear wheel locking. Something worth noting is that the clutch action is hard. However, the 2024 model does come with adjustable levers as standard, so that's good!
Ergonomics and Comfort
This list is going to be enormous:
Due to the roadster credentials, you are comfortably seated. In a way, you are cocooned with your hands stretched while reaching for the bars and you lean forward slightly. This can get extremely tiresome when you ride for long hours. Your lower back will hurt, along with your shoulder blades. With the absence of a windshield, it is going to be even more tiring.
RE Touring Seat is comfortable for most city commutes and you should be fine in short trip on the highway! RE's solution was to add more cushion/padding on a bench seat. Historically speaking, bench seats were perfect as long as you are commuting in the city. So, there's limited space for to move around.
Space for pillion is non-existent! Even if you manage to get a pillion on board, I don't think anyone can sit on the pillion seat is essentially a "slope". In addition to this, the positions of the rear foot pegs are set so high-up that will leave the pillion begging to use an auto rickshaw instead. Thankfully, there is an aftermarket solution.
You don't have to worry if you have to use the parking lot of Corporate office or a massive shopping mall, but around tight parking spaces and busy streets, it is a slouch and you will definitely feel the 200 kilos when you push it around.
The rider foot pegs are positioned weirdly that will hit your shins when you try to move the bike with your feet. I'm tall, so I can easily get my feet around the foot peg. However, if you are on the shorter side, you might want to take a test ride and see if you can live with it.
Something worth mentioning, the position of the Shifter and the Brake Lever are below the engine casing which would take some getting used to for an average-Joe. I personally didn't feel this when I was riding, but when my friend hopped on my bike, he had trouble using the levers (and he had his riding boots on!).
Fuel Economy: Ridden mostly in the highways (approx 75%) remaining in City.
Best Mileage Achieved: 32.4 km/l (Highway).
Usual Mileage Averages: 24 - 27 km/l (Highway)
Usual Mileage Averages: 17 - 22 km/l (City)
