Robert Fico says he isn't aware of any application submitted to the European Courts of human rights or the constitutional court of Slovakia from a citizen of Slovakia who is a member of the national minority. He says that maybe the difficult position of Slovakian minorities in the past was due to uneasy relations between Slovakia and Hungary, however now relations between the two countries are in better health.

ABOUT ROBERT FICO:
First elected to parliament when Czechoslovakia was one country, Robert Fico is the current Prime Minister of Slovakia. Seen as a pragmatist and euro-realist, Fico first led the centre-left to victory in 2006.

He is known for his tense relations with journalists, accusing them of being biased, and admits to a passion for cars and football. Fico's 'Smer' party was re-elected in 2012 after the governing coalition collapsed following a corruption scandal. He became the first person ever to lead a party to an absolute parliamentary majority in modern Slovakia.
