This has been bought as my sons first phone, his sister's was bought last year and I paid as much for a 2 year old, second hand iPhone 6 as I have for this vastly superior, brand new phone.

Watch the video that I have done as it will tell you far more than I can in words but I have put it against my Samsung Galaxy 8S+ for comparison. The Samsung cost 4 times more than the K1 but in the K,1 I have something that is just as capable, has a fast fingerprint sensor, facial recognition or pin to unlock it. This has a clear, large screen that is a 18-9 ratio which makes it a dream to hold and operate with one hand and it is speedy and responsive. It has a quality feel to it due to the weight as it is not made completely of plastic with a gold metal surround and a smoky blue back with the 2 lens camera being well spec'd and doing all that you would expect, including panorama shots (very easy to operate)

The android system that comes installed is just like the one on the S8+ but with less bloatware as it doesn't have the Samsung wrap on it.
4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and FM so all of the connectivity that my son will need and the additional benefit that I am not going to have to enter into a phone contract and can go SIM only with it being unlocked to any network. I got my Mother a £70 android smartphone for Xmas and what I got for the money gave me the confidence to pay a little more to get one of the higher end ones. There is a good chance that this has converted me from the mainstream, branded high end phones for the next time that I buy for myself.

Probably the only Con's for this would be the lack of accessories (cases etc) for the phone and the fact that it doesn't come with a 3 pin plug for using the supplied USB cable, then again, I have lots of those lying around. I would have preferred to have a USB-C connection also but Micro USB is a good universal standard. The value this offers outweighs any of my niggles though

Having played around with this as my own phone for a few days now, it is getting boxed back up and wrapped in preparation for making my sons day!

The choice between IOS and Android is made simple for me as I do not want to get my son trapped in the extortionate Apple ecosystem where he will be paying forever.
