Sometimes 2 clicks takes too long! If you’re working a lot with Vault you’ll be switching to the Vault browser and back to the Model browser pretty often. This 1 minute video shows how we can use an iLogic rule in our Inventor template files to let us toggle the browser using a keyboard shortcut instead of 2 mouse clicks. You can have it up and running on your machine in 2 minutes.

Just bear in mind that you’ll need to have access to edit your company templates, and you’ll need to paste the iLogic rule into the Part, Assembly and Drawing templates. This keyboard switch will then be available only for all new documents you create.

I’ve created 2 iLogic rules for you to choose from below. One of them will toggle between ALL of the browser panes (including the ‘Representations’ and ‘Favourites’ browsers), and one will toggle between only the ‘Model’ and ‘Vault’ browsers. Hopefully the names are enough to identify them!
