Parameters are among the most potent tools available in Tableau for data exploration and providing interactivity to end users. As explained in 'An Introduction to Parameters in Tableau,' the best way to conceptualize parameters is as placeholders. In the simple formula '2 multiplied by X = 16,' the variable 'X' represents the parameter, which, in this instance, is set to 8. The exceptional power of parameters lies in the ability for you or your end users to alter the value of 'X' from 8 to any other number, thereby influencing the results of a given view.

In this post, we will leverage this concept to perform a what-if analysis, demonstrating the potential outcomes if we were to enhance our sales from 0 to 100%. Parameters can take various forms, but for the purposes of this post, we will focus on creating parameters based on integers or whole numbers.
