Water is essential to all life. The risks to human health and to the natural environment from the contamination of water sources is a concern for Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation. As a result, Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation developed an on-reserve source water protection plan in 2024 to assist with protection of their drinking water sources and to ensure that their reserve and traditional lands are maintained as healthy environments. Complimentary works such as this video highlight some of the work of this project.
