Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed home in Ladian. Story of Nishan-e-Haider

I recently visited Ladian to see my uncle. We have many close relatives in Ladian. Whenever we go there, we also visit the grave of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti. My Uncle Sohail kindly takes the time to accompany us and share the story of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti's bravery.

Major Raja Aziz Bhatti was a highly respected officer in the Pakistan Army, known for his valor and leadership during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Born in Hong Kong in 1928, he moved to Pakistan in 1947 and joined the Pakistan Military Academy. He was commissioned into the Punjab Regiment.

During the 1965 war, Major Bhatti commanded a company of soldiers defending the strategic BRB Canal near Lahore. Despite being under intense artillery and tank fire for five days and nights, he held his position and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. On September 10, 1965, while leading his men and directing artillery fire, he was hit by a tank shell and martyred.

For his extraordinary bravery and leadership, Major Bhatti was posthumously awarded Pakistan's highest military honor, the Nishan-e-Haider. His legacy continues to inspire soldiers and citizens of Pakistan.

میجر راجہ عزیز بھٹی پاک فوج کے ایک بہادر اور قابل احترام افسر تھے، جو 1965 کی پاک بھارت جنگ کے دوران اپنی جرات اور قیادت کی وجہ سے مشہور ہوئے۔ وہ 1928 میں ہانگ کانگ میں پیدا ہوئے اور 1947 میں پاکستان منتقل ہو گئے، جہاں انہوں نے پاکستان ملٹری اکیڈمی میں شمولیت اختیار کی۔ انہیں پنجاب رجمنٹ میں کمیشن ملا۔
