Is Climbing Mount Elbert Easy?

Описание к видео Is Climbing Mount Elbert Easy?

This episode covers my hike of Mount Elbert the tallest 14er in Colorado from the Northeast Ridge Trailhead in the San Isabel National Forest. Mount Elbert is the highest peak in the Rockies, reaching 14,433 ft above sea level. This was my first-ever attempt at a 14er.

Mount Elbert is the highest summit of the Rocky Mountains, the highest point in the U.S. state of Colorado, and the second-highest summit in the contiguous United States.

This video shows us parking near the Half Moon west Campground since the road expansion work up to the trailhead wasn't yet completed. We hiked the extra mile up to the Mt Elbert northeast ridge approach trailhead to begin our Mid-September day hike of the tallest 14er in Colorado and the Rockies and the second-highest point in the lower 48 states.

Although it is one of the highest, it is also one of the best for beginners as it tends to be more gradual and most sections are not very technical. It is one of the easiest 14ers in Colorado.
