Fishing for Coho Salmon or Silver Salmon depending on who you talk to. This fish species is a member of the salmonoid family, and is featured in the sixth installment of the series that I'll probably be working on until the day that I die. The Coho - Scientific Name: Oncorhynchus kisutch. The goal is to catch 1000 different fish species, and today I am chasing a fish that is native to the Pacific Ocean, specifically the Northern Pacific, but it was stocked in the 1960s in the Great Lakes to help control the Alewife Population. It is not a native fish in the Great Lakes. I was fishing in the Port Washington Harbor of Lake Michigan for this species which can be found near the shore only when the winds are blowing in the right direction. I was a variety of jigging spoons and I was able to get some of them to bite. They also are extremely delicious, so I kept a few to eat.
