Henk Kraaijeveld Quintet with Special Guest Amelia Ong

Award-winning jazz vocalist and songwriter Henk Kraaijeveld disarms his audience with his warm voice and charming stage personality. The singer brings together compelling music with strong poetic lyrics and surprising improvisations in which storytelling has the main feature. Kraaijeveld graduated cum laude from Utrecht Conservatory and studied at Manhattan School of Music, New York. In 2013, he won both jury- and audience awards at the 10th edition of the Dutch Vocal jazz competition.

His ‘all-star’ band features some of the most creative and energetic musicians from the Netherlands, a guarantee for exciting musical interaction, on stage as well as with the audience. Henk Kraaijeveld Quintet consists of pianist and songwriter Daan Herweg, bassist Tobias Nijboer, drummer Joan Terol Amigó, and saxophonist Paul van der Feen.

Amelia Ong began singing and playing piano at the age of four. She finished her study at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA, Australia) in 2009 as a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Jazz Performance. Since then, she has performed in many international jazz festivals. She has developed a concept with a wide repertoire of jazz standards and her love of world music, which gives her a “new age” edge in her compositions, arrangements, and performances.
