Ottada is one of my fav, and I love having it with sweet coconut milk. It's too heavenly to have, and it brings back all those memories, or I'd rather say I re-live those days when my grandmom (Mom's Mom) used to prepare this in the wooden chullas. I used to grate coconut and extract it by squeezing it with my hands. Yes, I was in, I guess, 6th or 7th standard, and a girl who didn't know how to operate a mixer grinder. I used to take the grated coconut in a bowl, add some water, and squeeze it with my hands to extract the coconut milk. then I add some sugar and dip the ottada in the milk. and it's just divine.
Sweet coconut milk goes well with any dishes prepared with rice flour, like pathiri, ottada, aridosa and so. The flavors blend so well that you cant stop eating on the number that you normally have with any savoury dish. Like this Ottada is also my both my brothers' favorite. But they love to have it with beef. for i love fish curry as well but nothing beats the coconut milk for me.
