2024 Arcfox Alpha S5 in-depth Walkaround

The fifth model from BAIC's Arcfox brand, the Alpha S5 electric sedan, is set to go on sale soon, positioning itself as a competitor to the BYD Seal.

The new Arcfox Alpha S5 features a sporty design, enhanced by black accents on the roof, mirrors, and wheels. The car's sleek lines contribute to its dynamic appearance, with a closed front face and headlights that seamlessly flow into the front surround, creating an impression of a smiling mouth. Despite its fastback styling, the Alpha S5 is a true sedan rather than a hatchback.

The dimensions of the Alpha S5 are 4820 mm in length, 1930 mm in width, and 1480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. Buyers can choose between 18-inch and 19-inch wheels.

The Alpha S5 will be available in both single and dual-motor versions. The single motor variant is powered by a 200 kW unit, allowing for a top speed of 180 km/h. The dual-motor version includes an additional 190 kW motor at the rear.

Lower spec versions of the Alpha S5 utilize lithium iron phosphate batteries, while higher-spec versions are equipped with ternary lithium batteries (NCM), all supplied by CATL.
