EU4Health Information Session 2023 - 26 April 2023

On 26 April 2023, the HRB hosted a webinar to provide an overview of EU4Health 2021-2027 and the 2023 work program. The session featured Prof. John Wells and Prof. Shane Foley sharing their experiences and insights regarding the program. Attendees were given the chance to interact with the National Focal Point and Prof. Wells by asking questions.

The EU4Health programme is the new Public Health programme which will provide funding for reforms of national health systems, pandemic preparedness, healthcare accessibility, cross-border cooperation between Member States and decisive EU action in the fight against cancer. It will support the translation and best use of research evidence to improve healthcare systems and patient outcomes - from increasing innovative health technologies and digital solutions for the medical sector, to tackling infectious and non-infectious diseases.

With investment of over €5 billion, the EU4Health budget is more than 12 times higher than the previous EU Public Health programme. It is also the most diverse health programme ever launched, presenting significant new funding possibilities for government agencies, healthcare and research institutions and NGOs.
