"Welcome to the Future!" - 'Fenland Utopias', by Christopher Evans, Executive Director, Cambridge Archaeological Unit.

This talk discusses, amongst others, the latest thinking on past and recent Fenland utopian experiments, with a focus on the 19th century Manea Colony and the 1960s/70s hover train, following the latest archaeological and historic research done at both sites in 2016.

This talk was delivered as part of a conference organised by the Ouse Washes Landscape Partnership (OWLP) and has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. This, the third annual OWLP conference, was held on 9 November 2016 at The Maltings in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

This conference explored the heritage of the Ouse Washes Landscape, introducing you to some of the characters and stories that have played a part in shaping the Ouse Washes Landscape and continue to shape local heritage for future generations.
