Tata Electronics has entered into a strategic partnership with Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL) to advance India's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. This collaboration focuses on establishing India's first semiconductor fabrication facility (Fab) in Dholera, Gujarat, and an assembly and test facility in Jagiroad, Assam.

Under this agreement, TEL will supply state-of-the-art semiconductor equipment and provide specialized training to Tata Electronics' workforce, ensuring efficient operation of the new facilities. The partnership encompasses both front-end fabrication and back-end packaging technologies, aiming to produce semiconductor chips for applications in automotive, mobile devices, artificial intelligence (AI), and other key sectors.

Dr. Randhir Thakur, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Electronics, emphasized TEL's role in building a dynamic ecosystem to support the timely execution of their Fab and advanced packaging factories. Toshiki Kawai, President & CEO of Tokyo Electron, highlighted the collaboration's potential to accelerate development and drive innovation across multiple technology nodes.

This partnership is a significant milestone in India's efforts to establish a robust semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, contributing to the country's position in the global electronics industry.
