Banaras Hindu University (BHU) turns into battle field on Saturday night. At least three motorcycles were set on fire in the violence allegedly by some of the protesters. Fresh clashes erupted at BHU when Police opened lathi on women students protesting against three bike-borne men entering campus and harassing student when she returned to her hostel on Thursday evening The security guards remained mute spectator. The student alleged that her hostel warden, instead of taking up the issue with the administration, asked her why was she returning late to the hostel. Police rather than coming to rescue, entered a girls' hostel. However, police said accused students of trying to enter Vice Chancellor's residence. The matter had come to light after a student Akanksha Singh had shaved her head to attract PM Modi's and CM Yogi's attention during their visit but none could spare time to meet the girls who are facing molestation in the campus.
