While looking for a cheaper place to stay in Orlando, The Enclave immediately grabbed my interest when I stumbled across it. As I later learned, The Enclave is a condo hotel where each unit is privately owned. Some owners rent out their units directly on sites like Airbnb. Others utilize a rental program run by the resort itself. I booked through the resort. On the resort's program, you select a category (in this case, a basic studio unit) and are assigned a unit at check in. I was placed in a rather run down unit in building 1 that's received some "landlord special" renovations and repairs. It really seems like they just painted the walls gray, including painting over a lot of sheetrock damage, and called it a day. It was serviceable, but it certainly didn't impress me much. Looking at Airbnb listings, many of the units being rented out directly by their owners seem to be notably nicer than the ones being managed by the resort.
