YES! SOUP FOR YOUUUUU!!
This soup maker is so blankety, blankety blankin' fantastic. Okay! Granted! it doesn't make soup for ten. It makes soup for three. But it's SO MUCH smaller than an instapot. So it doesn't take up much real estate in my tiny urban kitchen. Listen up, hoss! I just cut my veggies into quarter inch cubes - INCLUDING THOSE LONG TO COOK ROOT VEGETABLES - throw those bad boys into my Phillips soup maker, add a li'l bit of low sodium chicken broth and tap water, herbs. Close that slick baby up, hit blend and 20 minutes later, I got myself some DAMN good LOW SODIUM soup - which means I can DRINK my vegetables. ('cause I hate eating them) I have been on a worrisome bender of cabbage and broccoli soup (that's the pic, I know the color's off). Somebody stop me! I claim I can stop anytime I want to, but I'm starting to doubt it. I only gave 4 stars to versatility because I know in Europe, they've got soup makers that saute, so you can actually throw uncooked meet into the magical, mystical cavern before you make the soup. I hope product director Phil of Philips will consider making an upgraded Philips soup maker with saute. But for now, I throw a li'l bit of imitation crab meat into my magikal soup once the cycle is through and I get my protein. Use this instead of a juicer, unless you actually LOVE spending twenty minutes washing your juicer with a scrubby after it gave you 8 oz of sub-par juice you could have bought at the store. Huzzah!
