Unboxing a Osram DH81 double diode triode vacuum tube. This valve is probably new & in its original box. (NOS New Old Stock, NIB New In Box).
The valve base is a loctal-8, B8G B8B. The valve has no top connection cap. The clear glass envelope has a label with Osram, BVA. & MADE IN ENGLAND UNDER BRITISH PATENTS. Printed on the glass inside a rectangle is DH81, 3 & DJ. The DH 81 has a filament voltage requirement of 6.3 volts & was first introduced in 1947.
The one end of the box has Osram VALVE, the BVA logo, DH81, 12/-. & PURCHASE TAX EXTRA. Printed on the inside flap is "This valve has been thoroughly tested before leaving the Works, and no responsibility can be accepted for valves used at other than the published ratings." The other end of the box has Osram Valve. The inner flaps have printed "MADE AT THE WORKS OF THE M.O. VALVE CO LTD. UNDER VARIOUS BRITISH LETTERS PATENT" & "E S & A ROBINSON LTD BRISTOL FOLDING BOX MAKERS O/N G 11341" & "BT3A".
