Marshall SV20H + Fryette PS-2a Van Halen Tones

Описание к видео Marshall SV20H + Fryette PS-2a Van Halen Tones

So according to the numbers, the video you guys liked the most was just my little 30 second clip of me playing Ain't Talking Bout Love recorded with my camera phone and a few people asked me to just do a longer medley so I went ahead and just jammed some Van Halen, but this time I tweaked the formula just a bit.

So the amp is just a stock #Marshall #SV20H but with 6CA7's instead of the stock EL34. The 6CA7's have a slightly tighter bass response and they lower the overall headroom, so say goodbye to cleans with the SV20H (unless you roll the guitar volume back)

I did not use the variac this time. I got a lot of questions regarding it last time and I should have noted that it was simply for aesthetics. It was being used, but it really doesn't change the sound and was completely unnecessary. Still, it looks cool.

I should stress, I run the amp at 8 ohms, always. This gives the amp a little more grit.

The #Fryette is new, I used it to lower the volume and turn some verb on. Verb was the #Boss RV-6 on the plate setting. You don't need the Fryette, it sound exactly same bypassed, but it's an excellent piece of gear. It's just nice to lower the volume and have an effects loop that works as the SV20H's loop is unusable at this volume 😆

Pedal Board:
Vintage #MXR Flanger
#MXR Custom Shop 74 Phase 90
#Danelectro Reel Echo

Oh and the pickup used was a #Dimarzio 36th Anniversary with #DAdarrio 9-40 Balanced Tension strings.

That's it. If you took the time to read all that shit, I hope it helps you in your quest for the Van Halen tone. I tried to make it as specific as I could. Thanks for checking it out!
