Every now and then, we come across a tune in this scene that breaks boundaries and ventures beyond the norms and expectations established within said style of music and culture.

Phonon's latest release, 'Polyriddim', put out on Odio Records, is one such tune. 7/4 Riddim Dubstep, switches between 140 and 122.5 BPM, some of the wildest note placement the genre has seen in recent times - but does it all work?

In this video I answer that very question in examining this mind-blowing cut, reacting to the music and discussing it in equal measure.
