What is new in Rokit 5Gen?

THREE NEW VOICING MODES
With new Mix, Focus, and Create Voicing Modes that are optimized for different monitoring applications, the ROKIT Generation Five Studio Monitors provide 3-in-1 monitoring flexibility

UPDATED TWEETER
The KRK ROKIT Generation Five features a woven Kevlar® aramid fiber cone woofer for superior damping and modal breakup control, while a new 1” tweeter benefits from a highly damped silk dome diaphragm that smoothly extends the high frequency range up to 40 kHz

FACEPLATES, MOINTING POINTS, FOAM ETC.
To my surprise, generation five features integrated mounting points on the bottom for use with KRK mounting brackets, perfect for immersive audio studio installations. What is also new, you’re getting two magnetic faceplates for protective grille or no-grille flexibility. Basically grilled versions have no noticeable impact on sound, so use it, especially if you have a cat or a small child in your studio. The box also includes acoustic foam wedge to minimize resonance and support angle setup. This is especially useful for the smallest speakers when you put them on your desk, so that tweeters can aim at your ears.

My recommendation
My recommendation - choose 8. They will work well as full-band near-field or even mid-field listening. Their clear, dynamic sound and appropriate bass presentation are perfect for the production of any electronic music. If we were only assessing the bass, they are very close to my powerful, 3 times more expensive APS Aeon monitors. Unless your room is really small, i.e. less than 12 square meters, then choose Rokit 7. The 7s are only slightly inferior to the 8s when it comes to bass depth, so you probably won't use the enormous power offered by the largest model. Despite having a similar sound signature, the 8s are simply slightly better monitors, offering greater precision in the bass and generally being slightly better balanced. However, if your budget is limited or you are just starting your adventure with creating music, choose 5. These are the best-sounding monitors with a 5-inch diaphragm that I have tested. You will be happy. They offer a balanced sound, solid punch, low-end impact and adequate dynamics and power for more serious tasks. You won't be able to perform professional mastering on them, but you can do professional mixing. They also have a great price-performance ratio. Contrary to appearances, it may make more sense to start with a synthesizer and smaller monitors rather than larger, twice-expensive monitors.
